A quick way to screen silicone sealants is to check appearance: whether the surface looks smooth, whether there are visible particles, and whether there is excessive bubbling.
Another point is the cure system. Silicone sealants are commonly grouped as neutral-cure and acetic-cure based on what they release during curing.
Acetic-cure sealants may have a stronger odor and may not be suitable for some alkaline substrates or certain metals.
For project use, always verify substrate compatibility and performance according to the product TDS.
